Portable Cattle Handling Starter Kit

For ultimate flexibility you cannot improve upon our range of portable cattle handling equipment – suitable for field usage (can also be used in a yard but may require some permanent fixtures). Standard hurdles are 6 rail x 1525mm high with box section in-fillers for added strength, whilst gates in hurdles and frames can be hung either left or right. Also available 7 rail x 1830 high . All items are quick and easy to assemble and because of its modular nature you can make the system as large or small as your needs or space will allow. Ideal for setting up in the field or on the farm yard.

Badger Defence Beef Trough on Legs 

Overview - After successful trials on farms in areas with high numbers of badgers, IAE has launched the Badger Defence™ beef trough.  Designed to stop the badger’s ingress to the animal’s feed, preventing the spread of TB known to be caused by this, without harming the badger.

Note: This equipment is Hot Dip Galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461, however, where the equipment will be in prolonged contact with silage or other mineral rich water, it is recommended that food safe or non-toxic epoxy is applied to areas of the product which will be in contact with silage, feed or water before use, and then periodically thereafter when it is empty, clean and dry in order to prevent corrosion of the steel and zinc and therefore extend the life of the equipment.

Yearling Circular Feeder

Overview - The IAE Yearling Circular Ring Cattle Feeder is a sturdy circular ring feeder made of galvanized steel. It has 18 feed spaces, making it ideal for nourishing young animals.

Standard Circular Feeder

Overview - The Standard Sheep Circular Ring Feeder is manufactured in two sections and fixed with coupling bars. It is suitable for sheep, lambs and alpacas.

Calf Creep Feeder

Overview - The IAE classic calf creep feeder brings together the best elements of our previous calf creep feeder designs and enhances the product with new features and design alterations. The hopper, intricately folded from heavy gauge sheet using our state of the art folding and punching equipment, forms an integral part of the structure of the creep.

Incorporating the hopper into the unit as a whole gives creep inherent rigidity and strength. To prove the durability and load capacity of the new creep feeder, it was tested with a payload in excess of 500kg in the 725-litre hopper, coping with ease and without sustaining any damage throughout the trial, which included transit and lifting using the (optional) top lifting frame, and the built-in 3 point linkage and forklift points.

• Built-in 3 point linkage and pallet fork lifting points make life easy when moving short distances around the farm
• Optional bolt-on top lifting frame also available
• The lift-up hopper lid also slides forward on nylon rollers to allow even greater access
• The front apertures offer plenty of adjustment, 3 height settings and 2 width settings

Calf Feeder

Overview- Calf feeder designed for use within calf pens for the fattening of younger animals.

457mm Cattle Water Trough

Overview- This sturdy 457mm water trough is built to last and will remain strong over time, making it ideal for your cattle. For added convenience, the drain has been skilfully pre-drilled, ensuring easy water drainage and effortless cleaning. Moreover, a rubber bung is included as a thoughtful accessory, allowing you to securely seal the drain whenever necessary.

Standard 6 Rail Hurdle

Overview - Part of our sheep handling range, our 6 railed sheep hurdles are all made from durable galvanised steel; ideal for easy and effective sheep penning. Sheep hurdles are specifically designed for fencing and penning sheep and lambs, but can also be used for other livestock.

Saracen Yoke Gate in Frame 

Overview - Self closing yoke design activated by the animal’s forward movement.

• Release handles fitted to both sides
• If an animal shuts the yoke having not put its head through, reset handles allow yoke to be reset without needing to let the animal exit the crush
• Operator handle assists animal exit if required
• Fully sheeted baffle plates to eliminate leg trapping
• Adjustable width yoke with 7 settings between 100mm and 250mm
• Vertical yoke arms to reduce the risk of choking if the animal collapses
• Lugs and short coupling rods included to fix to portable cattle hurdles etc

Deluxe Calving Hurdle

Overview - The Deluxe Calving Hurdle is an essential item to any farmer during the calving season. The hurdle enables the pregnant animal to be isolated and safely restrained so that you can aid the birthing process in a controlled, calm and safe manner.

The addition of removable rails built into the restraining gate allows caesarean sections to be performed easily. Simply remove the rails to provide you and the vet with the space you need to safely remove the calf. Due to caesarean sections only being able to be performed on one side of the cow, the hurdle is set to be one hand only.

The calving hurdle is fronted by a unique yoke which is positioned differently to that of a standard feeding yoke. Due to the higher risk of animals going to ground during birth, the yoke is designed to allow for this and will therefore allow for the cow to go to ground without choking.

• The 3 removable rails either allow for a caesarean section to be performed or for the calf to suckle from its mother
• Cow can be yoked to assist with the calving
• Low safe exit from yoke in case of the animal going to the ground
